David Lockeridge’s new explosive percussion concert will take you on a journey through different rhythms and powerful musical moments. Joining electronics and acoustic instruments, David will perform new music from leading composers from Australia and abroad. Featuring the marimba, a wide variety of drums and even a typewriter, this will be a night of virtuosic and engaging music you will not want to miss. This concert will also feature two premieres of new works written by Diana Blom.
David is a leading Australian percussionist constantly in demand as a soloist/freelance percussionist and educator. Recent collaborations with composers have included Ross Edwards, Gerard Brophy, John Psathas, and Dr Diana Blom. Recently, David, was the percussionist on the 25th Anniversary of Jeckyl and Hyde with Anthony Warlow and the percussionist for Jonsi and Alex’s performance of Rice Boy Sleeps at Vivid Sydney. David has toured multiple solo concerts, with his most recent tour, From Near and Far, being well-received by audiences in Sydney and regional New South Wales.
