
Join us for the Winter String Fling, an exciting three-day orchestral workshop for orchestral string players of all experience levels (minimum requirement: instrument independence). Running from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday 14 July to Wednesday 16 July 2025, this immersive program is led by TRCM string teacher Emily Bishop and offers a dynamic mix of ensemble playing, musicianship development, and fun activities.
Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in:
- Tutti rehearsals to develop ensemble skills and musicality.
- Sectional tutorials with expert guidance for violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
- Info sessions on orchestral techniques and interpretation.
- Music games to make learning interactive and enjoyable.
- Musicianship skills workshops, improving sight-reading, rhythm, and listening abilities.
- Chamber music, providing a chance to refine small-group playing skills.
- Solo performance practice, helping students build stage confidence.
The Winter String Fling culminates in a final concert on Wednesday, where participants will perform for family and friends, showcasing their progress in a supportive and celebratory atmosphere.
